Gaea Seychelles was recently successful with our grant application and received funding from the JRS Biodiversity Foundation, an independent grantmaking foundation based in the United States with assets that awards grants to increase access to and use of biodiversity information in sub-Saharan Africa.
This three-year project is also a 20-year dream project for some of the Gaea Seychelles board members.
The ‘JRS River Project’ will focus on four main components: Freshwater Biodiversity data collection, the development of monitoring programmes, capacity building, and civic engagement for long-term conservation and management of our rivers and freshwater biodiversity.
